Is drawing a natural talent or can it be learned?

Well im needing something to do while I have free time at work. So im wanting to learn how to draw or even if it is possible for someone to learn how to. Im not trying to be a artist or anything but just to do it as a hobby. The main thing im looking to learn how to draw is cars and tattoo designs. Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to start? Books or web sights or personal tips? Thanks.

Of course it can be learned.There is a book called "Drawing on the right side of the brain" by Betty Edwards .She teaches you how to draw several things by looking at things in a different way and about how we perceive art in general. You can get this book at your local library by asking if they have it and if they don’t, they will get you a copy.

Natural talent accelerates it, but anyone can learn.
Learning to draw by copying photographs is an easy way to start, but very poor because your drawn picture will look flat (it’s still a good way to develop the motor skills however)
I would say try to copy real life objects from observation first.
As for learning to draw tattoo designs, I will say that will be a bit more complicated (for things like tribal designs) as you are figuring out the placements and proportions of the elements in the picture.
Well drawing capability is innate and inborn but since psychology says its a skill,its proved that it can be acquired as well.But the results depend on your aptitude and patience because generally if one is passionate about something,the passion generates patience..
It’s a natural talent but anyone can learn to draw! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t like your drawings at first, it takes lots of time! Even for those who have the talent it take times to practice it! They are lots of very good books out there or you could take some drawing classes ( which I think are better since you can get direct feedback from the lecturer).
